 150th Anniversary Celebration
Sunday, September 19, 2021

After a year of waiting, St. Andrew's celebrated its 150th Anniversary on Sunday, September 19th with a 10:30 joint worship service followed by a catered meal. Due to the large number of former pastors and former/current members in attendance and to accommodate social distancing, attendees could chose being seated outside under a tent or inside the church building. The service was live streamed via large screen TVs with parts of the service alternately being conducted in both seating areas. Special music was provided by accompanist Allen Ricks, violinist Tammy McGarock, and the St. Andrew's choir led by Amy Collum. Pastor Kari Lee led worship and guest speaker Deacon Jodi Schuman, Assistant to the Bishop for the Southeastern Iowa Synod-ELCA, gave the sermon. Following the service, a catered meal was provided with ample time for fellowship and reconnecting. Photo credit: Shawnee James Photography

"Small but Mighty"
St. Andrew's is a member of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). First established in 1870, St. Andrew's has been ministering to generations of area families for over 150 years. Although a small, rural church, we are "Mighty in Mission." Just as Martin Luther wrote, "Faith is a living, creative, active, powerful thing," so is St. Andrew's a living, creative, active, powerful faith family.
