Memorial Day Worship/Picnic Lunch

On Memorial Weekend Sunday St. Andrew’s invited Holy Trinity to a Memorial Day patriotic worship service and picnic lunch. Pastor Ahntholz led the Memorial Weekend/Festival of The Holy Trinity worship service. Lois Ahntholz provided accompaniment which included patriotic hymns. Doug Bell read the names of the veterans buried at St. Andrew's cemetery. Veterans from wars as far back as the Mexican War and Civil War were honored. Following the service, Doug Bell and Mark Bell grilled hamburgers and hot dogs while members of each congregation supplied a variety of sides and desserts. Bill Bennett, Jr. from Holy Trinity won the pie-baking challenge with his strawberry/rhubarb pie. This is the second year St. Andrew's has hosted the Memorial Day service/picnic, and the food challenge has become a much anticipated part of the event.
